Mantis Bible Study App Reviews

It would be nice if the "paragraph mode" works with the segond bible FLS for example its really frustrating :/ when Im reading cause I like the paragraph mode and it works only with the KJV. Thanks if you can fix it。 UP :I asked to the devs they were misunderstood like yea we gonna do it and we still waiting for this paragraph mode

Searching for a convenient tool to use for keeping up with your studies on the iphone/ pod touch this one stands out like a beacon in the otherwise either overpriced or wireless- demanding versions of the word. First off, you dont have to pay anything and get the kjv for free together with all the tools included-so bookmarking, notes etc.- the true power, though comes when you add one or two other bibles to your collection- cross- reference was never that easy! Amazing! Update: the new study tools complement the software to become close to perfect- not even the reading needs to be done, you can opt for buying a voice for cheap and having the bible read to you. Plus, iphone and ipad are equally supported. Great great value for Money!

I love this app and habe used it for my biblestudies for many years. They havent been updazing it and now it doesnt work on my phone. Considering the money inn app purchases cost - that is a no ho. I hope they update it soon! It would also be great if highlighting would be easier and reliable.

Great app, though wish there was a NIV or The Message translation included, for those of us that dont like the older style writting. Love the interface, only complaint is that sometimes I accidentaly press the "Read" button while browsing, which then brings you back to the "Bookshelf". Not a big deal considering the ease of getting back in 2 more "clicks", but gets to be a drag after a while. Thans a lot guys :), overall wonderful job! Paul

This is a geat app ... very easy to use and the growing list of features with each update is remarkable. I love that the content resides on the devise for offline reading. Keeping notes is a breeze and multiple translation comparisions in Mantis is the best implimentation Ive seen on any device and with any software. Most importantly, Mantis customer serivce is stellar. Ive written of 3 seperate occaisions and on each of them I had direct response back and the issue was resolved very quickly. These guys and their app is the best!

I got this because I wanted to have the NRSV and only the NRSV on my ipod. (You buy the NRSV - deutero-canonical books included - online, then download to your ipod. You can delete the KJV that comes with the program.) If you highlight, "erasing" is a bit of a pain: you have to change the highlight colour to white (in Settings) and then go over your previous highlights. But Im not a big highlighter.... All in all, its a very nice app.

It has a really great selection of bibles and resources. The best setup that I have seen for bibles for the iPhone. Looks very nice too. The only thing, and I mean the only thing thats bad is the photo corners. On the last update, Mantis put these grey triangles at the top corners of where your reading. Please get ride of those!

Great app, I wish there was an NIV version as well...

Tweeking for example be careful on History page (it needs a back button in the spot instead of clear) I deleted all my history of the pages I read :( Create a warning at least !

I just love this free application! I enjoy being able to highlight scriptures, note take, and the daily scriptures which will help me read the Bible in a year.

I have been very satisfied with this application. Not only do they have monstrous updates that really help the whole interface of the application, but its very well written, very easy to navigate, and most of all, free! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a good free bible application!

Not simple to use. Too many features .

Great app but seems somewhat buggy. Im getting really tired of losing my notes, bookmarks, etc. over and over. This is the most expensive app Ive ever bought (NKJV) but doesnt hold a candle to some of the development going into some of the free apps out there.

i cannot open it now, since the update and the nass version which was not free, i cannot access either...

Ive tried a number of bible applications and this is by far the best. Great facility for creating in line notes and to bookmark verses for later reference. For those that like to stay organized, you can create nested folders to store your bookmarks by subject or theme. Notes and bookmarks can be backed up to the Mantis web site. I look forward to using the new features in V4.0; hope to see it released soon!

Great app! Went on the Mantis website and downloaded some free commentaries dictionaries and other translations. Great inline features. Ended up buying the NRSV and complete Calvin commentaries. Loads of additional resourses to suit your tastes.

The ability to highlight, organize bookmarks by folder, and create your own inline notes is awesome. The app is also packed with features like verse analysis, which is usable if you purchase additional translations, commentaries, or dictionaries. The downside is this app only includes the KJV for free and requires you to pay for other translations. It also doesnt have some the online interaction components that some other apps have (e.g. allowing people to share input on verses). But still, for any serious and diligent Bible student, there is no better choice than Mantis.

My wife, family and I all use this wonderful program. We especially like the KJV and the many features available. Excellent app, thank you and God Bless.

Love this app - it is a must have for sure!!! It does everything it says and is Easy to use. It makes memorizing fun and easy. Now I look forward to studying the Word more than ever!
